WinZip®
WinZip® is a shareware program that compresses large files into smaller sizes to make them easier to transfer on disk and over the internet. The font files are stored in a .zip file that must be opened with WinZip®.
Click HERE to install WinZip® from the CD or go to http://www.winzip.com for the latest version. If you install from the CD, choose Open when asked what you want to do with the file. Then follow the install instructions. When installation is complete, follow the instructions above for installing the fonts.
Browser
Many of the online materials use specific Greek or Hebrew fonts, but sometimes Internet Explorer does not display foreign languages correctly. The problem has been documented by others as being a problem in certain versions of IE and is not a fault of our HTML code. If you have this problem download a free copy of Netscape 4.7x.
We do not recommend installing the latest versions of Netscape (6 or 7). Currently the most stable and compatible version is Netscape 4.79 click HERE to install it from the CD.
MP3 Players
In order to listen to the sound files, you will need a media player that plays MP3 files. Click HERE to see if you can play the sound files. Make sure that your speakers are turned on, and that audio is enabled on your computer.
Windows Media Player or Real Player will work. If you do not have either of these, you will need to download and install one:
Windows Media Player - this can take 25 minutes to over an hour depending on your Internet connection. Real Player - (installs Real Player 8 from the CD). Make sure when you install to set it to play MP3 files, if you choose Real. Quicktime can also play MP3 files, but sometimes cuts off the beginning of the audio. For that reason we recommend one of the other two.
