Assignment #8a: The Assignment for Indicative Verbs

1. Using the same process as in the above examples, find all the Indicative verbs in Acts 9:1-8.  (NOTE, find the Indicative verbs and not anything else).  With each of the indicative verbs indicate whether the are used in a statement, a question, or a command.

2. Email the results to your instructor.

3. When you complete this assignment, proceed to the Subjunctive lesson in the Verbals section of your CD.

Assignment #8b: The Assignment for SUBJUNCTIVE VERBS.

1.   Look up the verbs in the following passages and find ONLY the ones that are subjunctive and try to interpret them.  By interpret we do NOT want to have you tell us what you think the verse means but rather apply the rules from the lesson on subjunctives. If it is possible to understand a verb two ways explain each way that it is possible to be interpreted. 

2.   Please read the whole lesson including the examples and try to understand the various uses of the subjunctive. Remember that there may be more than one subjunctive verb in the lesson.

3.   Send the results to the professor by email.

Assignment #8c:

1. Find all the imperative verbs in (Matthew 6 and interpret how they are used using the above lesson.  Remember, I do not want to hear what you think about the verse, but what you think as you apply the above principles of interpretation.

2. Email the instructor your results.

Assignment #8d: OPTATIVE VERBS

1.   Look at the verses in these passages 1 Thess. 3:11f; 5:23; 2 Thess. 2:17; 3:5, 16 and find which verbs are OPTATIVE using the Online Bible.  Try and determine which way they are being used. Remember that there may be more than one OPTATIVE verb in a verse.

2.   Email the instructor with your responses. Put them in the following format or in a way that includes all of this information for each passage. Identify the verb(s) in the Optative. For each one give which Optative use is represented. Then provide an explanation of how that optative form is significant for understanding the meaning of that passage.

Assignment #8e: Tense and Moods (Be careful on this one as it counts triple! I guess it is important, isn't it?)

1. Look at Ephesians 2:1-10 in the Greek.  Using the principles and your Online Bible, identify and interpret each verb in the passage.  (No Participles or Infinitives Please!)

2. You need to identify both the mood and tense of each verb and indicate the significance of each.

3. Email your results to your instructor.
