Answer as many of the following questions as your teaching experience allows. If you have little or no teaching experience to this point, skip the questions that don’t apply to you.
1. In what way are teachers always being evaluated?
2. Why is it necessary to realize your weaknesses as a teacher? Why is it uplifting to be recognized for your ‘good job.’
3. What might be the value of having your teaching cam-corded?
4. What by-products might come from having a special room for a given class, teacher and students to be viewed?
5. If you are teaching, complete the “Telling Yourself the Truth” survey on page 140.
6. Describe your biggest success (top of page 141).
7. Explain where you “went right” so you may be able to repeat your success (bottom of page 141).
8. Using the “More Success” page, evaluate yourself by filling in the answers.
9. On page 143, look at your weak areas and consider where you could find help.
10. Have a look at the list of methods on page 144, Getting Specific. Circle the methods you used this quarter.
11. See the “Check Chart on p. 145. Check the statements that apply to you and follow the other directions.
12. If you are teaching, using the “My Teacher” chart on page 147, ask for the students to evaluate you.
13. For your information, complete the final evaluation chart, “My Students,” on page 148. Be sure to keep a copy for yourself so you can help each student.
