3. The chief priests and scribes looked for a way to “take Jesus by subtlety.” Why did they want to be “subtle” about the matter?

4. “And Satan entered into Judas . . . .” Why Judas? Why not Peter or James or   John or one of the other disciples?  

5. Jesus’ disciples asked him, “Where wilt thou that we go and make ready for thee to eat the Passover?” Mostly in your own words, sum up Jesus’ instructions to the disciples and the results of their efforts. 

6. p. 646 “And there arose also a contention among them, which of them was accounted to be greatest.” What caused the disciples to enter into a dispute over this matter?

7. p. 647 McGarvey says that there is “an apparent discrepancy between John and the synoptists in their statements concerning the Passover.” What, in McGarvey’s view, is the simplest solution of this difficulty?

8. Jesus washed the disciples’ feet. What did he teach with this act?

13. During Jesus’ farewell discourse (pp.660-667), three different disciples asked Jesus questions that show a lack of understanding. Identify, one at a time, the disciples, the questions, and the nature of their misunderstanding.
