1. What is the basic principle taught by Jesus in Matt. 6:1-5? One carefully worded sentence should do the job.2.In Matt. 6:7, Jesus teaches against “vain repetition”? What is “vain repetition” and what’s wrong with it? Check two or three modern translations of this verse.
3. McGarvey lays out the content/significance of the “Lord’s Prayer.” He says that “it is divided into two sections, and each section is subdivided in three heads.” In your own words, as much as possible, identify these two sections and the subdivisions of each.
4. Explain as clearly as you can the point (or points) that Jesus is teaching in Matt. 6:19-21.
5. Prepare a brief devotional talk (write it down) on Jesus’ teaching found in Matt. 6: 25-34. The job is to make this teaching understandable and relevant for your contemporaries. (about 150 words)
